Tell us about yourself.

“Heyyyyy, I'm Heather Marshall, 35 from Inglewood, CA and I am the Owner of Something For The Aunties, LLC. It's my jiggy clothing brand that is geared towards Auntie's with a Tomboy flare.”

How long have you been a sneaker lover?

“Me and sneakers have been in love since I was 10/11 years old.”

Do you remember your introduction to the sneaker game?

“My first memory of really caring about shoes comes from my older cousin Justin. He had every shoe growing up and would treat his shoes like kids, so I guess you can say he put me on. I would watch him circle his shoes in the Eastbay catalogs and such. So when I got my first pair of Jordans it was a wrap, those were my kids also. It's been over since then.”

What is your favorite pair of sneakers?

“My fave pair of sneakers are the Air Max 91 Anniversary Red. It's just a classic shoe that goes with everything and it looks good on any fit.”

What are you wearing now?

“Right now I'm wearing the Aleali May Jordan 1, her latest release. Very well crafted shoe, I'm impressed (LOL).”

What is your favorite sneaker colorway?

“This is tough because I like so many, but if I had to pick one it would be anything with orange and white. I like my shoes to stand out and orange is also my fave color.”

If you could collaborate with any sneaker brand, who would you collaborate with and why?

“Nike duhhhh, checks over stripes any day baby! Nike is just the household name, it's the blueprint, the IT brand. They have so many different styles and colorways and it just fits my personal style.”

What do you think the sneaker game is missing?

“Integrity. I'm from the era where you could still walk in the mall to Footlocker and just buy your shoes over the counter without all the raffles and BS. I miss those days. Now it's a bunch of buying up shoes just to resell for crazy amounts of money and they have no fits or style. I miss the people who genuinely like shoes and want to show them off.”

How long have you been a sneaker lover?

“My whole life. I have holiday pics with me in dresses and sneakers. Growing up in the 90s/00s my mom always dressed me in sneakers.”

Do you remember your introduction to the sneaker game?

“My mom and sister kept me in sneakers as a kid so there wasn’t a grand intro for me. It's always been my default and what I knew and loved.”

What is your favorite pair of sneakers?

“AJ9. I have a personal connection to those because I remember my parents having them and me thinking they were so cool and fly for that.”

What are you wearing now?

“AJ6 Carmines.”

What is your favorite sneaker colorway?

“Bred is for sure my favorite colorway.”

If you could collaborate with any sneaker brand, who would you collaborate with and why?

“I honestly would like to collaborate with New Balance. They are doing some dope things with the brand and I love how innovative they are being. Also NB’s are some of the most comfy sneakers I’ve ever owned and I think they do an amazing job of incorporating function and fashion which is really everything my own personal style is about.”

What do you think the sneaker game is missing?

“Access and regulation. The resale market has made things impossible for people who really want to enjoy and wear their kicks.”

What is your favorite pair of sneakers?

“My favorite pair of sneakers are my Comme des Garcons Cortez. They were my most expensive sneaker purchase and I don’t wear them often because I want to preserve them, lol.”

What is your favorite sneaker colorway?

“My favorite sneaker colorway is classic black and white.”

If you could collaborate with any sneaker brand, who would you collaborate with and why?

“If I could collaborate with any sneaker brand it would either be Nike or New Balance. Nike because they have a ton of silhouettes that I love and New Balance because of how comfortable the sneakers are.”

What do you think the sneaker game is missing?

“The sneaker game is missing more female collabs. There is so much creativity out there that needs to be tapped into!”

How long have you been a sneaker lover?

“I have been a sneaker lover since I was a baby. No lie, when I look back at old pics I’m wearing sneakers. I hated dressy shoes and I always wanted to wear my sneakers. I’ve been a tomboy my whole life so sneakers have always been my choice!”

Do you remember your introduction to the sneaker game?

“I was introduced to the shoe game by my dad in middle school. Shoutout to him for wanting to spend money on my shoes. I remember I really wanted a pair of Jordan 8s and they were sold out everywhere. Everyone at school got a pair except for me so I really wanted them! My dad surprised me with a pair. From that day forward, getting shoes that no one had gave me a rush! I knew this game was gon stress me out!”

What is your favorite pair of sneakers?

“My favorite pair of sneakers are my classic Chicago Jordan 1s! They are my babies! They are versatile and that shoe pops every outfit!”

What are you wearing now?

“I am wearing my Pine Green Jordan 1s. My fave color.”

What is your favorite sneaker colorway?

“My favorite colorways are the Chicago’s (black and red) and the UNC’s (baby blue and white). Classic colors make my heart smile.”

If you could collaborate with any sneaker brand, who would you collaborate with and why?

“I would collaborate with Nike. Checks over stripes. Nike is global and I would want my shoes to be everywhere and when you think shoes you think Nike.”

What do you think the sneaker game is missing?

“I think the shoe game is missing winning links for regular people. There are people who sit on shoes people really want. Shoes should be accessible to everyone. I should be able to walk into Foot Locker and buy Jordans or any shoe for that matter! Those are no different than buying a pair of Stan Smiths.”
